Fun fact: Did you know people from all across Cincinnati mail their Valentine’s Day cards from the post office in Loveland just for the postmark? It’s true! But spend a day in Loveland and you’ll discover there’s a lot to love about this community and why it’s an incredible location to build a home.
Loveland is the perfect mix of the old and the new. It has a vibrant historic downtown area right on the Little Miami Bike Trail that features some of the best dining options in Cincinnati and the surrounding area. And it’s also home to one of most top-rated school systems in the state.
These are just some of the reasons Classic Living chose Loveland as the location for our newest development, ChimneyRidge. Located in the heart of Loveland, ChimneyRidge sits on 26 wooded acres and is in the Little Miami School District. Not only is ChimneyRidge perfect for families, it’s also ideal for nature lovers, as many of the homes feature wooded backyards (some that are on two acres).
Need more reasons to build a home in Loveland? Here’s our top six below.
Location, location, location. First, let’s talk about Loveland itself and why its location is unbeatable. Located just fifteen minutes from downtown Cincinnati, Loveland is easily accessible from all major highways. It’s incredibly close to the city, yet once you arrive in Loveland, you’ll feel like you’re in quiet and friendly small town.
Now, let’s talk about Classic Living’s ChimneyRidge development, because when it comes to location you can’t get much better. That’s because ChimneyRidge’s three cul-de-sac streets are less than a mile from the shops and restaurants of historic downtown Loveland and the Little Miami Bike Trail.
Stellar schools. ChimneyRidge is located in the award-winning Little Miami School District. Over the years the school district has grown to now serve about 5,000 students. But while it’s getting bigger, what hasn’t changed is its emphasis on the student as an individual. Every student is given the time and attention they need to flourish.
Loveland also has two excellent private K-8 Catholic schools and Catholic high school options include St. Ursuline in neighboring Kenwood, and Moeller High School, also in Kenwood.
Incredible dining. Whether you love fine dining or prefer a burger and fries, there’s bound to be a restaurant (or several) that’s right up your alley. The Melting Pot is a fabulous upscale but laidback restaurant that has a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options, while Paxton’s Grill is a neighborhood favorite, known for their burgers and friendly service.
With its location on the Miami Bike Trail, historic Loveland is filled with restaurants and bars with outside seating. It’s not unusual for patios to fill up (safely, of course!) in the summer with cyclists who are ready to take a load off.
Great parks. As we’ve already mentioned, Loveland is a big stop on the Little Miami Bike Trail (in fact, it’s sometimes simply called the Loveland Bike Trail). The entire trail is 70 miles long and goes through areas including Milford, Miami Township, Lebanon, and Newtown. You can rent bikes for the day at a number of bike shops in the area.
If you prefer hiking, you’ll be happy in Loveland. The Kelley Nature Preserve is full of well-maintained hiking trails, and the Camp Dennison Nature Trail is loved by locals.
And don’t forget about the Historic Loveland Castle & Museum. Chateau Laroche, as the castle is called, boasts four towers and is an exact replica of castles that were built thousands of years ago when the Roman Empire occupied England.
You can spend the day (and even a night!) at the castle. It’s absolutely gorgeous and an impressive sight, but beware – some have spotted ghosts on the premises!
Great shopping. Downtown Loveland is home to many wonderful, locally owned shops and boutiques filled with one-of-a-kind items. Haven Grey, for example, sells unique home décor and accessories and if you’re looking for a gift, the Busy Bee Boutique has you covered. We love their Bee Boxes that contain handpicked uniquely themed gifts.
Loveland is also in close proximity to Kenwood Towne Center, making it an even more convenient place to call home. So, no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it without having to go too far.
Excellent safety. Families, take note: Loveland was rated 75% safer than most major cities and has a lower crime rate than 69% of the communities in Ohio, according to NeighborhoodScout. And according to areavibes.com Loveland is safer than 77% of the cities in the United States.
